Vanessa Young Registered Speech Language Pathologist #1041
Vanessa Young is a Registered Speech Language Pathologist who has a wide breadth of experience working with children and their families. Vanessa is registered by the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia, and is certified by the British Columbia Association of Speech – Language Pathologists and Audiologists (BCASLPA), and Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC). Vanessa is a Registered Autism Service Provider (RASP), has trained in the Lidcombe approach to fluency and the Hanen It Takes Two to Talk program. Upon graduating from the Masters program at the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences at the University of British Columbia in 2001, Vanessa has worked collaboratively with children and their families, educators, and other team members using a family centred approach.

Chelsea Monaghan
(She/Her/Hers)
Chelsea is registered with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHHP) and is certified by Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and Speech and Hearing British Columbia (SHBC). Chelsea has certification in the Hanen It Takes Two to Talk program and training in facilitating Supported Conversation for Adults with Aphasia (SCA). After graduating from the UBC School of Audiology and Speech Sciences in the Speech-Language Pathology program in 2012, Chelsea has worked in hospital and rehabilitation settings, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to support adults with management of swallowing and communication challenges related to neurodegenerative disorders, stroke and brain injury. Chelsea enjoys working with both children and adults and strives to help them meet their communication goals by using a client and family-centred approach to her practice. In her spare time Chelsea enjoys reading, baking, dancing, camping and trail running.

Janine Baker Registered Speech Language Pathologist #0780
Janine Baker, is the owner of West Coast Speech Language Pathology. Janine received her Master of Science degree from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver in 1995. Since that time she expanded her clinical experience working with children in a variety of clinical settings including schools, child development centres, private practice and public health speech and language departments . Janine opened West Coast Speech Language Pathology in 2005 after her first son was born. Janine is a proud member of the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHHPBC), British Columbia Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (BCASLPA), Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC). Kim Bennett Registered Speech Language Pathologist #2516
Kim Bennett is a graduate of the 2020 UBC School of Audiology and Speech Sciences Speech Language Pathology program. She is a member of the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHBC) and a member of Speech and Audiology Canada (SAC). With an extensive background in theatre and dramatic arts Kim is passionate about integrating dramatic play and story-telling into her work as a Speech Language Pathologist and has a particular interest in the development of social and pragmatic skills through the use of Reader’s Theatre and improvisation. Kim is committed to pursuing a family-centred practise, emphasizing the role of all family members in the therapeutic process. When not in the clinic Kim is a competitive long-distance runner, having recently completed the Boston and New York City Marathons.

Alison Quiring
Alison is a Registered Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) by the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHBC) and a member of Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC). She received her Master of Science from the University of British Columbia in 2022. She is passionate about helping individuals connect with their family, friends, and communities while advocating for accessibility in all areas of life.
Alison values evidence-based approaches, cultural safety, and neurodiversity affirming practices. She has experience working with autistic children and teens and believes strongly in a family-centered, play-based, and strengths-based approach. She also has experience working with children who use Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) and in the areas of phonology, motor speech, language, and articulation disorders.
Alison has experience working with children and families from a wide variety of cultural and language backgrounds. Prior to beginning her master’s degree, she spent a year working in a children’s home in Zimbabwe, Africa and had the opportunity to complete her final clinical placement in the Aboriginal Headstart Preschool Programs in East Vancouver.
